Beutler leaves Hamburg immediately
The home defeat against RK Celje Pivovarna Laško in the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 was the last international match of goalkeeper Dan Beutler for HSV Hamburg. Two days before their first quarter-final against SG Flensburg-Handewitt HSV announced the immediate transfer of the Swede to El-Jaish Club in Qatari capital Doha.
Originally it was planned that former Flensburg goalkeeper Beutler will leave Hamburg after this season to Swedish side IFK Kristianstad, but he changed his mind, playing from now on in the same team of former Atlético Madrid left back Nikolaj Markussen. Beutler’s contract in the Emirate is valid until the end of the season.
In 2011 he had transferred from Flensburg to Hamburg, he played 89 matches for HSV, the last one was the German Cup semi-final, which his team lost after extra time against Flensburg.
Hamburg’s goalkeepers for the rest of the season - including the upcoming VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals - are Johannes Bitter and talented Max-Henri Herrmann.
